bmx9854
I have gotten all the bolts and nuts of of the starter, I think. Two bolts on the front and two nuts off the back are what I've taken off. I have been trying to work it out by banging it with a block of wood and hammer and it hasn't really budged. Did I miss a bolt or something?
prasamin
did you take the bracket off?
KlausC
The starter motor is pulled off the bracket towards the passenger side of the car. There is a stud in the motor that sticks through the mounting bracket.
Ozark Lee
Your next trick (after you remove the bracket) will be to get the starter out of the car.It can be done but it is a PITA....Lee
mr. volvo
The starter motor is pulled off the bracket towards the passenger side of the car. There is a stud in the motor that sticks through the mounting bracket. Its not a stud, its a single 12mm bolt, that affixes the bracket to the block. the two 10mm nuts, affix the bracket to the starter. the need not be removed, but the 12mm bolt must be removed. The starter is not much of a pita, imo. thats a really easy job on those cars. Hell of a lot easier and cleaner than RWD redblock cars.
