bitjockey
well, if you are running a BOV, and you are venting metered air to the atmosphere, then your car will run rich and thus destroy your 0^2 sensors (if its bad enough)...←Running richly on unleaded gas will definetly not destroy anything in your exhaust system, other than getting soot all over your tip.Any byproducts burned from unleaded gas do not harm any emissions equipment in the car. WhiteT5
I remember seeing a site a few days ago that sold turbo stuff. They had a category of BOV's for car's with MAF's and for cars without them. Perhaps the ones being sold for cars with MAF's simply have hose to vent the air back into the system? I can't remember the site. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
nik850r
i mentioned something a while ago about it maybe being bad for your car to have a bov. a bunch of people said its not, and they wouldn't have installed one if it was. i have a hks, but the cbv isn't blocked yet. want to hear more from odell still. Guest DougK
you're exactly right...Odell can attest this, he posted maybe a week ago about shooting fire after installing the BOV....I personally think they are stupid and you're doing the right thing by taking it off←your stupid :P
fromtheshadows
ok. well it makes sense that the bov that isnt recirculating the air will cause it to run a little rich hampering performance, and i get no smoke coming out of the back of my car, and be4 I got a little. I have the same bov thats in the pic of turbo850 (it looks like) its a turbo xs loudest one on the market one. Ill have to renig and say im not selling it until ive explored the option of running a hose. seems simple enough. ill have to reblock off the stock valve and start the cutting, well, ill email you if I decide its not worth it. thanks all

fromtheshadows
your stupid ←whats up doug you don't think that the engine needs to worry about compensation for the loss of the air? are you defending yourself or are you just calling him stupid? patrick
i think a split second of running rich isnt going to kill a car, rich is alot safter than lean(heat heat heat). i dont knwo too much about the stock system but i would think some of these popular blow off systems allow the car to return to its normal boost state quicker than the stock system, which is actually better than the split second of richness.
