Pops Racer
95% of us will get tax breaks, 40% of us pay taxes. Whats the math for that? It's not even a tax cut it's a redistribution of money in the treasury. Social Security, like there will be any left when I retire, same thing. It comes from a general fund that will make for more govt debt. They continue to play with the money likes it belongs to them.If it walks like a duck... DonutsDemise
Spread the wealth = socialismwhat does socialism equal to you? personally, I think democratic socialism with free enterprise under government regulation is ideal (maybe not in this country since so many people disagree). i know socialism is a bad word here though. and don't tell me that free enterprise isn't free if it's under government regulation because the apparently the government thinks I'm free under the PATRIOT Act, and for the most part I am since the government is wasting it's time if it chooses to listen to my conversations. although they might get a laugh if they like low-brow humor or simpsons quotes. Pops Racer
The ACORN issue gets deeper, and they have been exposed as a partisan organization. They should be defunded. Ironically they will now team up with MSNBC to monitor voter fraud! What a joke. More associations with Ayers, a known PLO fund raiser and Obama buddy at Columbia al- Khalidi. Supreme court appointees, both houses in Dem control, Govt owned banks and mortgage companies, raise taxes on those that have for those that have-not.Someone step up and stop this slide into the abyss of the nanny state, social and economic engineering, high taxes and no growth. Tax the rich, theyll hide the money. Tax businesses, theyll stop expanding and pass the cost onto you in the form of higher prices. Tax me more and I won't be able to afford to send my kids to college. Or purchase anything. We have the 2nd highest tax burden in the free world, and the highest taxes on business and capital gains in the world, killing our ability to compete in the world economy. Get ready for a real slow recovery. Be careful what you wish for, my Obama worshipers. I still don't see what this so called change is. Obama is buying his way into the WH. he's raised nearly 400 million dollars. HALF A BILLION TO BE PRESIDENT. It's never about the money, is it, it's about the power. The only change I see is the dismantling of the greatest economy in the world.
DonutsDemise
Obama's tax plan will cut taxes for the middle class by $300 more per year ($3000 compared to McCain's $2700) and a similar percentage more for small businesses. I don't understand what the argument there is. If taxes on business end up raising prices, less people buy from them, and businesses will have to lower prices to gain back the market they lost. With what has happened to our markets, how can anyone afford everything anymore? My brother started college in August and my mom was set to pay for all 4 years. I talked to her about her finances and now my brother needs loans for the next 7 semesters. I guess I'm lucky to enter the workforce now because hopefully my savings can only grow from here. Instead of having a 401k for the last 10 years and lose all the progress, I can start during the fall sale at the stock market. Obama's tax plan makes more sense for my mom not to mention her beliefs and morals which are definitely not aligned with McCain's or Palin's.I think our economy was dismantled a couple weeks ago. MikeG
...my mom was set to pay for all 4 years. I talked to her about her finances and now my brother needs loans for the next 7 semesters. Not to sound like an ass, but what happened to the money? Most people (I think) know that the closer you are to actually using money, you transfer more and more of it away from volatile investments and into CDs or just a savings account. And FWIW, Obama's plan to place more taxes on "big business" will hurt everyone, and middle class tax cuts are a joke (both parties). Where does everyone think inflation (in part) comes from? Businesses (small and large) never ever pay wages or taxes, the customers do. So every time minimum wage goes up, so does the cost of a Big Mac, and everytime politicians think it's PC to raise business taxes, companies either raise prices or outsource. Just the way it is.For the record, I like neither ticket and will probably write in Ted Nugent.
