I was looking into purchasing the scan gauge II that Ipd sells but was wondering if anyone else has one? The latest one also does HP, is that very accurate? And it also advetises intake manifold pressure but only for certain models, how about 850s?

I like mine, Got mind from SharpHID, or Leuvern on this forum.

on my 98 c70, the HP reading is around the estimates for the ecu upgrade...

I dont think I get manifold pressure tho.

Usually I check Voltage, Water Temp, Intake Air Temp, and Horsepower.

Definitely comes in very handy that it can check and clear checkengine lights. Saves trips down to the local autozone to borrow their OBDII scanner.

I have one. You wont be able to get map pressure because the older cars dont really have a map sensor. If you wanna see it shoot me a pm and we can meet up.

The nice thing I like about the ScanGauge II is the size of the unit and its capabilities.

Of course having it is safer than using my PDA or even laptop to do the same:

Actually using a laptop to see real time data was getting pretty dangerous (looking at the screen instead of the road). :P

I was also looking into getting...so are they worth the money?.....

I think it was worth the money I spent for mine. You can retrieve and reset codes on the fly. You can also get data about some sensors on the car, I can monitor the exact coolant temperature with the gauge. It will also do anything the volvo trip data will do and then some.

JVC has one, PM him.

I got one used for $50, some of the best $50 I have ever spent, I use it all the time, not only on my car but on many others, its really a great item to have, it also tracks top speeds and top rpms throught day or time you start your car, really a nice item and totally worth the money. IMO.
