They sell 3 piece kit that includes the belt for this ($130 or so at fcpgroton.com, you might have to call because I'm not sure the 01+ kits are on the website). Rule .308 Posted August 14, 2008 Report Share Posted August 14, 2008 As stated, all of the '01 cars will have the mechanical tensioner in them. The 850 and S70 motors will be very similar with the exception of the tensioner and how it is set up. Now would be the best time to change out the water pump if you plan on it. The pump is not too dificult with the belt out of the way, do the pump while you have the tensioner out too as it will facilitate it.On the mechanical tensioner:Install the NEW tensioner with the adjuster ear at 10:00Install the new beltRotate the crankshaft clockwise just enough to place tension between the intake cam gear and the crankRotate the adjusting arm on the tensioner clockwise so that the indicator passes through the upright ears from left to right.With the indicator past through the ears and off to the right turn the adjuster counter clockwise and bring the ear back into the window from right to left until it is centered between the ears, the adjusting arm should now be about 7-8:00.Hold the adjuster stationary while you tighten down the retaining bolt that holds it all together.Make sure that you use a new idler bearing and tensioner when you do it. Make sure that you do your water pump while you have the belt and the tensioner out of the way. Having the tensioner out of the way facilitates getting the pump in and out and it also prevents you from getting coolant on your new belt because the new belt will not be installed yet.Mark Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
