16t On A 98 Glt

My LPT motor w/16T put out 223WHP & 290+ ft.lbs of torque, it was very nice. I did add blue injectors & IPD T5+ remap. I wouldn't run a 16T + over 10psi on a stock tune.

I expect much more from my T5 M built motor :D

Sounds like a cool setup. Good luck with that motor. :)

I agree with this, but he can throw an 96-97 T-5 or R ecu in and run 12 lbs with an MBC with no problem. Believe me, 12lbs (with an MBC) is pently of power on the GLT's.

I'm now running a 16T on my tuned LPT, the tune is IPD stage 2 tune with the torque limiter retained. I now have in my 3" DP and supersprint CB and the car moves. The tune runs 16-17PSI and the spikes are under control now. I say get parts over time and save up to get a good tune. You can't run a MBC to raise boost the computer will override it in a day. The IPD tune is great and I like the limiter so I don't burn tires all day long.

Incorrect. You can run an MBC with no problems at all on a 98. Its the 99 and up that you cant.

You are correct sir I thought he had a '99...do be carefull in running a MBC you don't want full boost in first gear.. low RPM's + high boost = no good.

Everyone that has said that has been speculating. If you look back at those posts, not one of those people have ever had an LPT engine with a 16T turbo. In the mustang world we call that benchracing.;)

There is no way a modified LPT is keeping up with a modified HPT in the top end.

I cant wait for Aaron to bend a rod either :lol:

Keep waitin' bud. ;) Thorough research has formed my carefully thought plan of ONLY raising boost with a CUSTOM tune which will be 12/13 psi, which will come after the turbo back exhaust obviously, but hey, of course "Adam" already knew that. ;)

Stupid remarks such as yours are WAY better left of unsaid.

Can you explain why? And dont tell us what you heard or read. I want to know the facts and how you came about getting them. This will be good. I am willing to bet that my Olive would show you tail lights from a roll or a dig. (hows that for benchracing).

No aggressiveness, just don't have much of a stomach for people that constantly bash others to make them feel better about themselves. :)

From a dig, for sure. LPT's haul ass off the line in comparison to a HPT.

I wish I could explain it to you.

I know just as much as the next bench racer on VS in regards to this topic. I would assume it had a lot to do with the difference in compression ratio's, and the fact that my car can run more boost more safely. From my understanding, the higher compression ratio makes your painted-trim olive 850 more prone to detonation :P.

Maybe someone with REAL engine knowledge can come in here and blow all of us away ;).
