soiltron Posted September 2, 2008 Report Share Posted September 2, 2008 Your 850 already has this. This thing basically acts as the oil catch for cars that don't have one equipped. I made one for my Saturn for $7. Looks exactly like the picture you posted. It's an air compressor water filter, with a couple hose fittings on it. It doesn't do anything for gas mileage, but it's supposed to help the engine last longer. With 135k on the Satty I was cleaning out the throttle body fairly regularly. Now the oil just hangs out in the clear pouch. Kinda cool. But a total waste on a Volvo. I suppose if you got sick of maintaining your PCV system you could replace it with something like this, which you could put in a place easy to get to, and being clear you'd see when it was time to empty it.
