Snapped Wheel Stud While Tightening The Lug Nuts

ok. I know now why this happened. There is a defect in the thread that does not allow the stud to thread fully into the lug nut. It forces the nut to stop threading before the correct torque spec is reached. It was stuck and the nut was not able to make a closer contact with the wheel. When I put more force it did not tighten but rather snapped.

If they did not hold up to 81 lbs/ft, you might want to start worrying.

Yeah thats not grade correct hardware. If it were, the hub would have stripped before that happened. Even a mis cut thread would only do that if installed with an impact driver.

What options are there? Found only one place to get studs for volvo? There is some vendor that I have seen mentioned on here but people had problems with those also. As far as quality of hardware is concerned it can't be all that great because the price was low but it has to meet some standards and be safe to use.

The volvo is just a side attraction. Got and mkv gti for DD. How much for the spares? Are they also from that seller on ebay?

My spares are OEM parts. I have accumulated lug bolts over the years and I don't mind sending them to you for the cost of postage. I have about 40 spares now if you need a few, just let me know.
