2.3L or 2.4L for used convertible? Is one better?

I know about the horsepower but are there any inherent differences that are real good or bad? Does one hold up better than the other.

Thank you,

Kurt

Not that I'm aware of. I've never driven the HPT version, but for whatever it's worth I have read in more than one place that some people fee the LPT, althoug it has considerbly less horsepower, has more a more "usable" power band for most typical around town driving because the boost kicks in sooner. Having never driven the HPT, I cannot say whether I agree or not.

:o

blasphemy!

the HPT's are quite fun in the 35-90 mph range. there isn't much that can touch a modded T5 engine at those speeds. but down low, the LPT has some pretty good grunt on even a stock tune.

Thank you one and all for the replies.

I had the T-5 in my 850 and it really did jump on the rare occasion when I asked it to. What are the common mods referenced above? What kind of gains can be made and at what cost?

The LPT would be fine for the Mrs. I'm sure and since it's going to be her car I guess we will see whats available.

Thanks again,

Kurt
