I'm just glad, and proud of my wife to help me do this :)!

If I can't afford it right away, I'd rather not get it.

Exactly. This is the biggest issue people in North America have...buying things they can't afford and drowning in debt. Like someone said..."they have everything, but own nothing."

Yeah. I hope I never exceed my spending. IF you're wise about 'em, credit cards are great. Get one that offers extended warranties and buyer insurance and use that for any important purchases. But, just make sure it's stuff you can afford, and pay it off down to $0 every time the bill comes in!

I should probably mention interest rates on cards here is around 17%, so you just DON'T sit on debt.
And if you're late on a payment, it goes up to like 25%

Carrying CC debt is a sure-fire way to throw away assloads of money.

My card has a $15k limit, but it comes and goes. I sometimes spend that in a week, and other times it goes for months untouched. Depends on how busy business is.

:o wow at first I was in shock, but then I read your business part.

No credit cards, Amex gets paid off in full every month (even the no interest card). If I can't afford it right away, I'd rather not get it.

I couldn't agree with you more :) - yet still, it is soo easy to get into debt, even making the $$ just to buy it outright.

It is, you're right. As for the comment about this being a major problem in the US: my sister built up $15K in debt while in school in England. This isn't just a US thing, they give money out like it's candy everywhere.

I got my first credit card and havent touched it once...except for last night i had to use it to pay for a book, I only use my debit card just because i feel like i should only spend what i have, that being said my credit line is also only 500 lol and had to pay 100 for that lol
