Who Wants To Custom Map Their 850 T5 By Themselves?

It already works with Vista.

You can't simply convert the Turbo-Tuner software into a Windows Mobile app. However, a Windows Mobile version of Turbo-Tuner is already in the pipeline which might in the future even work via bluetooth too! :)

Bluetooth????? thats gonna make it kinda pricy isnt it?

A windows mobile version of just a loader for maps is what I would want. I wouldnt want to try to change maf values and fuel values on a 2inch screen. But just something to transport the map itself to the ecu. Thats what I would be working on.

Bluetooth would be more expensive, but it's still an option. USB only for the time being though.

Yes, the mobile version will not be for mapping, but mainly for loading tunes. We may add more features like adjusting rev and speed limiter.

so if you do come out with hardware updates... we wouldn't have to pay the full price again to switch out our unit to the one with new updates?

what is the difference for the turbo tuner pro? sorry if i missed that in the previous posts. motronic 4.4?

I have 6 ecu's out of 96 turbo cars from the salvage yard. I am planing on sending them all for conversion. When I get them back I am going to test each one on my car. Also I am going to have labtops put together for each one. The computers will be a dedicated unit, there will be no other software on these. Only windows xp, pdf reader and the turbo tuner program. I am trying to get 6 of the same labtop together. I am looking at an 11inch compact custom labtop case and having my computer guy put them together with the minium requierments.

Also I am going to have my computer guy look at the program and see what we would have to do to make it work with vista and windows moble. If it can be converted to windows moble most newer smart phones will be able to LOAD Maps. In other words you will be able to make a map on your home computer and send it to your phone and load it to the car. Your phone will be able to hold as many maps as you have memory. Also depending the size of the stored file you could text the map to other people or email it from your phone.

If people would be interested in a buy on a complete unit (ecu, and laptop) let me know. I havent done pricing yet but it is looking close to $1000.

If there is enought people interested i will be putting this together.

eh, i just bought an Acer Aspire One 8.9" laptop for $380, and that's the best model they have out in the 8.9 right now....if someone wants a basic one for tuning, then you can easily get a mini laptop for $200

so $625 + $200 + $50 ECU is $875.....if you can get it to around $900, then I see potential....otherwise most already have laptops and ECUs and can get it done easily.

Adam, I will await the price quotes.....I'm ready to buy, so that's one of 5.

That's correct. You would just pay for the cost of the retro-fit.

Turbo-Tuner Pro is designed for Tuning Workshops. It allows tuners to create and sell maps for both 4.3 and 4.4 within the same application (project manager), whereas the standard version is specific to either 4.3 or 4.4. It also allows the tuner to disable editing of specific maps, so for example a tuner may not wish his customers to meddle with the ignition map, so he can disable editing of the ignition map for safety. There are lots of other extra features and differences, but I will list them once the product is released. However, the main difference is that Turbo-Tuner Pro is geared up for tuning workshops to make revenue from tuning, whereas the standard version is aimed at individuals wanting to tune their own car.

I asked the mods to close my thread on a package deal and group buy.

I am going to wait for the group buy price to come out tomorrow. Im thinking it will be right at $500 US. for the conversion. Thats a 20% discount. I think it would be reasonable if we could get 5+ people to go in on the buy. If the price is right I might have a few ecu's converted and resell them localy and on the internet. Im waiting on someone to start a thread on the group buy.

Whos doing all the shipping and reshipping and what are they going to charge us? I am able to set that up if nobody else is willing. As I have nothing but time (retired and a student) living the good life!

someone pm me the info please.

Adam aka TurboTuner is going to message me the details on Monday....I will handle the group buy for now....as far as getting people signed up, the details, money, etc.

I'll let you know if I need to delegate duties at a later time. Right now, we'll keep things simple with a list of people who are in 100%, each will pay the full amount (including shipping to the US to one person) up front either to myself or Adam, and we will decide distribution from there.

If you're going to get a few ECU's converted, then that's already the bulk of the group buy....if you do 4, and I do one, then it's already the 5 we need for the initial pricing....if we can get up to 10, then even better, but I won't get my hopes up. I'll cross post on the other forums as well once Adam messages me the details.

IMHO, it would be eaiser to get their software to delete the OBD2 code for a missing TCU than to make a euro-spec manual out of it. The benefit of a euro manual tune is the manual-ness and a few extra horses. If we didn't get the pesky OBD2 code, we could just get those horses through tuning. With the right parts, potentially we would have a better than manual euro-spec tune.

The word on the street is in Europe they don't have the manual swap CEL issues like we do. They can run either ECU without a problem.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You're not wrong, but some info is missing:

Here is what I know:

our timing is different on an auto ECU, I found that my car burned oil on the auto ECU when it did not burn anything on the manual map one.

As for the TCU, we tried some option after my swap with the shop and it's not just a basic -/+ signal, it is looking for actual info so deleting it won't change the TCU issue. Your ECU requires a remap to manual specs.

The European 850 owners that I know with manual swaps are just running OBDI maps, so they do not have to worry about the CEL since their maps are manual OBDI maps.

I have a spare UK specs T5M OBDII ECU that is stuck with a pesky immobilizer issue, if Turbo Tuner tells me that it's still usable, that would help.

In the interests of keeping things under control for the group buy, I think it may be worth starting another thread once the details will be available. It needs to be organised efficiently, so please bear with me until the details are finalised.

For anybody wanting further technical info, it's best if you send an email - info@turbo-tuner.co.uk

But please read the info on web site and the FAQ first :)http://www.turbo-tuner.co.uk
