Who Wants To Custom Map Their 850 T5 By Themselves?

I am. I have the hardware to read, copy, etc. but no gui like his yet. Mine is a simple connector that just clips onto the actual rom chip. I would be marketing it, but it's just a bunch of wires and not finalized yet.

So you're not actually socketing and replacing/emulating the chip, just piggybacking it? I looked into this before I bought my standalone, but had no idea what I was doing.

finalize it fast....seems like we are paying for the GUI....eeprom readers are no new story....but for M4.3 and M4.4 it is a new story....

No you are not simply paying for a GUI, although a significant amount of development time has indeed gone into the GUI because one of main features of Turbo-Tuner USB is to make it as simple as possible to use while minimising the possibility of messing things up. You are paying for a complete tuning solution, with warranty and backup support, ie a genuine viable alternative to a standalone system. Some of the features offered in the current version can be seen here: http://www.turbo-tuner.co.uk/ttusb-features.htm

How did you figure out what the maps were when you actually were able to read the eprom and get a bin file on your computer? Did you ask volvo or actually figure out what the map's address's in the rom were? Did you pay some one for the info on what the maps were, because if you did, and it was something ridiculously expensive, then I could justify you selling them for that much INITIALLY.

Also, how do you go about tuning the ECU when the usb connector is in the engine bay and you are in the car with the laptop?

My system doesn't piggyback. It is in essence a in circuit programmer. The ECU is off, and my circuity programs the ROM.

Thank you to all those who have expressed a keen interest in the Turbo-Tuner USB product. Unfortunately I feel it's time to depart from this thread. :(

If anyone would like to be kept up to date with developments and new products etc, please drop us an email or fill in the form on the contact page. Thank you.

Understood, seems that people are trying to downplay all the R&D time, or take info to build their own. I'll be taking one of the 4.4's

I guess I won't be getting answer. If anyone else has any experience with editing maps please let me know.

You should not even be asking that question to a person who has put time and effort into making a custom mappable product for us to use, and who is selling it, why would you even begin to think of asking, thats rude in my opinion
