This sounds like it may be a good option for my build. I do not plan on using any ECU or standalone to control the boost. A very good dual solenoid ebc will take care of that.

Yes it will work fine with such a setup. You won't need to bother with the boost control map because the EBC will override the boost control, but you will need to raise the MAF limits so you don't hit the over-boost engine protection cut-out at the higher boost levels. This is a very simple task in the Turbo-Tuner software!

Q : Let's say I have a really nice map already that I want to keep. Perhaps change the fuel a little in the future for different injectors but keep everything the same. Can that be done? I noticed that the software makes pretty big steps with some settings like for example RPM limit which jumps from 6800 to 7200. Mine is set to nearly exactly 7000rpm, how would the software "see" that if it loaded my existing map?

Yes it can be done, but not directly. The solution is as follows -

1. Firstly, you would need to send your existing map to us so that we can extract the relevant data and convert it into a special file format which can be used with the Turbo-Tuner software.

2. Then you can use this special Turbo-Tuner file to make the small tweaks you require while keeping everything else the same.

Currently Turbo-Tuner uses the fixed options you can see for RPM limits, but it can be made to set the rev limit to 7000 rpm if required.

The screenshots for "Full Throttle Fuel Screen" and "Ignition Timing Screen" don't seem to want to expand: http://www.turbo-tuner.co.uk/ttusb-features.htm

Could you post the high resolution images?

Can the Turbo Tuner modify partial throttle tuning as well?

What are the max size injectors you can run with the turbo tuner software setup?

I don't know because the limiting factor is not really the Turbo-Tuner software. Certainly 750 cc is not a problem. The potential problem you have with huge-flow injectors is that you lose resolution in the control of the quantity of the fuel being injected. For example, a 1% change in pulse width for a 350 cc injector is a much smaller quantity of fuel than a 1% change in pulse width for a 1000 cc injector. The result would be fueling control that isn't quite as precise as you would like it to be, but it would not stop you from running at high performance levels. I think the biggest difficulty with massively oversized injectors is achieving a smooth idle.

IMHO, if you really need to use injectors the size of a small house, then you may need to use a different EMS altogether, but for most setups Turbo-Tuner will work fine.

An ME7 version is a long way off at the moment for several reasons -

1. We need to finish the Motronic 4.4 version!!! That's the top priority.

2. We want to add some extra features to the existing 4.3 version to make it even easier to use.

3. We want to finish the PRO version so that Tuning Shops can make library tuning files for Turbo-Tuner users who are afraid of mapping by themselves.

4. An ME7 version would (at present) be considerably more expensive and therefore not as attractive compared with the 4.3 and 4.4 system

5. It's not as beneficial for ME7 cars because they can already be flashed via OBD2 (ok, not while the engine is runing).

6. Development of a user interface to make it "easy" to tune an ME7 system is a huge amount of work. Turbo-Tuner is designed to be simple to use, so the complexity of the ME7 system must be translated into something that most tuning enthusiasts can work with. That is no simple task, believe me!!! :)
