Boost_Junky
I'm leaning heavily towards this solution. My tuner already said he can tune it. Group buy is an interesting idea too. Do we have to deal with customs? Is shipping over there crazy expensive? The manual question has been asked and turbo-tuner is looking into it.IMHO, it would be eaiser to get their software to delete the OBD2 code for a missing TCU than to make a euro-spec manual out of it. The benefit of a euro manual tune is the manual-ness and a few extra horses. If we didn't get the pesky OBD2 code, we could just get those horses through tuning. With the right parts, potentially we would have a better than manual euro-spec tune.IIUC, the turbo-tuner is a whole new beast inside. It is basically only using the case, and pin outs. The guts are all new. So the best bet would be for us to have a manual or automatic choice in the software. Maybe the fact that they based turbo-tuner off the euro ECU, we won't even get a CEL. The word on the street is in Europe they don't have the manual swap CEL issues like we do. They can run either ECU without a problem. Please correct me if I'm wrong. bum2kev
i would also be in 100% i would like to know your future goals though on interfacing other products into the ecu and software...like a wideband, EBC etc. are you looking into doing these things? But these features won't be available any time soon because they take time to develop.

Also, state who wants a ready-made ECU and who wants to send an ECU for conversion. For those wanting conversions, it's best to send a spare ECU rather than the ECU in the car because turnaround for a group-buy would be longer.ps. The group buy is not limited to the USA. Postage to other countries can be handled seperately.

Boost_Junky
I have a spare in the garage, so I would send one. Given a good price and if I have the cash available, I'm in. If we buy and you guys update cool stuff, can we get that stuff later too?

Hardware updates for future versions will require a retro-fit, or possibly an exchange unit, so there will be some extra costs associated.
GeraldJ
I have 6 ecu's out of 96 turbo cars from the salvage yard. I am planing on sending them all for conversion. When I get them back I am going to test each one on my car. Also I am going to have labtops put together for each one. The computers will be a dedicated unit, there will be no other software on these. Only windows xp, pdf reader and the turbo tuner program. I am trying to get 6 of the same labtop together. I am looking at an 11inch compact custom labtop case and having my computer guy put them together with the minium requierments. Also I am going to have my computer guy look at the program and see what we would have to do to make it work with vista and windows moble. If it can be converted to windows moble most newer smart phones will be able to LOAD Maps. In other words you will be able to make a map on your home computer and send it to your phone and load it to the car. Your phone will be able to hold as many maps as you have memory. Also depending the size of the stored file you could text the map to other people or email it from your phone. If people would be interested in a buy on a complete unit (ecu, and laptop) let me know. I havent done pricing yet but it is looking close to $1000. If there is enought people interested i will be putting this together.
