Black Betty
Are they really bad every 3rd oil change?Oh yeah, I remember reading about regapping to support different mods n such.lol im gonna get flamed so hard for this one but ill admit it i got lazy the first time and well just threw them in w/o gapping them, now volvo usually gets the gap close to spec but... anyways i gapped them now to spec per haynes manual and aaron you forget my car is running a stock tune at stock boost so i wouldnt call my car modded engine wise atleast
--Aaron--
I'm running the Denso Iridium, and ZERO problems. I used to run Bosch Platinum +4 in my NA 245, with Hi voltage coil, and again no problems. But on my Opel Kadett w/Hi voltage coil and MSD I had to run Bosch copper because I was melting the platinum core! And even then I was changing plugs every 20k miles! That's what convinced me to go with Iridiums man. I kept reading that I'd pretty much have a 50/50 shot of them working out good and that's the route I went, in hope. not at all, i just baby my cars, hell even my "beater" looks better than 80% of the cars at my work parking lotEveryone respects the owner and his/her clean car when they're well taken care of man, that's a plus I'd say.lol im gonna get flamed so hard for this one but ill admit it i got lazy the first time and well just threw them in w/o gapping them, now volvo usually gets the gap close to spec but... anyways i gapped them now to spec per haynes manual and aaron you forget my car is running a stock tune at stock boost so i wouldnt call my car modded engine wise atleastHmm....maybe I should think about gapping these...will be here mid week. HtownTurboBrick
Are they really bad every 3rd oil change?Oh yeah, I remember reading about regapping to support different mods n such.lol i was doing new plugs every week, i could tell the moment my the NGK-R's weren't doing their jobs. The key to keep the coppers alive were to constantly put the car thru it's paces, if i took it too easy on the car for a few days they'd just run cold and foul. The difference between a fouled NGK-R and a fresh set was losing by 1 car and winning by 2 cars. I used to do it to guys all the time for money runs. They thought i was screwing with them and had a hidden NOS bottle. It's how i know my car was running well or not and i got to the point where i had 2 spare sets of plugs, gapped and my plug socket and it'd take me less then 10 to do the change at any given time. That being said i figured out now that something was seriously freaky about my coral. It was an effin champ when it ran right, but i've run the NGK-R's on 3 different T5's now and none of them have ever gone thru plugs the way my coral did, however back then i thought it was normal and i loved how bad ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD the car was on em. I could never figured out why it fouled so quick or why it was so damn fast with them, but i think it had something to do with my intercooler leak and running ubber rich for so long and not realizing it.
