atefitty
The dome light works when switched in forward position but does not come on in rear position when door is opened..The other courtesy lights come on though when a door is opened..I've tried a replacement light..Is there a relay I'm not seeing? atefitty
Hi im a newbie, but it realy sounds like you have a faulty dome light switch, or circuit to the lightsThe dome light has a circuit board so it could be burned out at the part that operates theorught the door circuit..I just thought someone on the board may have had this problem. Its quicker sometimes than diagnosing.
ragged edge
yes very true, i am a volvo tech with about a little over 5 years of volvos. just to me it seems that if the bulbs arent bad and the other lights are working, it is most likely the dome light assymbly, the fastest way to check is to use a test light and see if the curcuit board is getting power from the power side while opening up the door. that is alot beter than if you do what some one has done to their car and fixed it but doesent fix yours. lots of possibillitys. blackknight
I ran into that with my 740, it turned out to be a bad solder. Go over the board with a magnifying glass and look for cracks in the solder and repair as needed.
