Cal3thousand
Just found out I have a crack!Does anyone know why the stock 850 turbo manifold is so prone to cracking? Is it because the design is too thin? Can I JB weld this thing until I find a JY special?
matt b
Assuming exhaust mani, JB Weld won't do poop to fix your issue, given how hot it gets back there. If intake, I have a spare one, PM me and I'll work with you on it.Best option is to grab a used one or get a Japan manifold if you have access to one. Cal3thousand
Matt B: Exhaust, thanks thoBTW, I decided to pull the head and rebuild it instead of the engine swap.where is it cracking? they all pretty much crack around the collector, but they dont leak.Haven't even taken it off yet. I was getting ready to remove the turbo, unbolted the DP and then noticed that it's cracked by the #4 or #5 runner.I'll take some pics soon. I might have time to pull it tonight.I just found a guy willing to sell me the manifold off of his 2001 V70 on the cheap. I know that the car is a turbo, so it should fit right? Is this possibly a Japan manifold?I would bet that this one is leaking due to the location of the crack ( I can see it on the outside!)

matt b
Grab the 01. If it makes you feel any better, I had to replace the one on the wagon 2 months ago, cracked. Car had 103K miles then.
DonutsDemise
I have a 98 S70 T5 manifold that I can send to you if you want it. I sheared a stud off in it but you can drill that out. I can take it off of my old engine this weekend and I have a gasket set too.

lookforjoe
Ar you sure it's cracked? There are casting lines all over the outside that look like cracks - can you actually see soot or white deposits that would be a sure sign of an actual leak?
