vegasjetskier
WHat? Ill test it in a few minutes"Trunk lock" function Pressing this switch locks the trunk, even if the doors are unlocked. The trunk will remain locked even if the doors are locked/unlocked using the master key or the remote control. To use this function: · Turn the master key to position II. · Press the "trunk lock" button. An LED in the button will light up and a message will be displayed in the text window to indicate that this function is activated. · The function can be turned off (deactivated) by turning the ignition key to position II and pressing the "trunk lock" button again (the LED in the button will go out). * The position of this button may vary, depending on the specifications of your car. Hence the purpose of the service key, to keep people out of the trunk and glove box.Thank you much for your suggestion though.

mustang
I'm guessing you have this sorted out by now...Just did the same thing with my S80 while on vacation stranded with no phone...My options were to 1. tow it 70 miles to Volvo (locksmiths will not touch volvos...)2. rip the trunk door off3. pry up the speaker deck cover and feel around for the cable releas that connects directly to the back seat latch. I took option 3 (option 2 was a few minutes away) and I was able to lift the rear deck cover up a few inches and grab the cable to the back set behind the driver seat and a slight tug and the seat unlocked and folded down. I crawled in and got the keys. PS the alarm was going off so I removed the fuse (on the side of dash on the drivers side).Volvo... so well built, not even I could get in :(
CHARGER69O1
Sounds like the valet key is not programed. Order a Master key by code and have it programed at a later date. ;)
