E_S80
I headed out two days ago from my friend's house to meet my family for dinner at a restaurant about 15 minutes away. I was going about 25-30 mph about 8 seconds after a turn and noticed a brand new GMC Acadia edging his way towards Prairie Ave. in Highwood from an alley behind a local bar/bowling alley.I maintained my speed and began to pass him, seeing that he had stopped at the edge of the road.Well, he decided to make his turn right as I passed him...into the side of my car...on my birthday. The door's stuck openIt's a good thing I had no one else in the car...I'm guessing my passenger could have been a little banged up from the impact and the airbags. The doors are clearly finished. Both quarterpanels on the front and rear of the car are dented and bent. The doors pretty much shoved into the interior of my car (there's no longer any space between the door and the seat), so I'm guessing some internal stuff is bent.I need a new passenger seat, new a-pillar, ceiling fabric ripped, passenger ceiling handle's broken, passenger side and curtain airbags deployed... and that's just what I could tell at a first glance.So..do you guys think it's totaled? PharmD
That's quite a bit of damage. Considering the side bags deployed, they very well might total it. Sorry to see that happen, man.

fasts60r
Happy birthday! And if I were a betting man, I would start car shopping now. Even if, by some fluke they don't total it, after all that would you want it back? Take it from someone who got hit pretty hard and had it fixed...it's a HUGE hassle. Like me you probably love your car, so it'd probably be worth it to you to do that, but it can be a chore.
JVC
I saw the thread title and knew it was you, damn dude that sucks, was it some biotch on her cell phone chewing bubble gum listening to Katy Perry's song I kissed a Girl that ran into you? Was her name Lauren? because I know a chick who drives an acadia and is a terrible driver... jkIt's probably totaled... $200 for Arrakis with tires and $25 for the exhaust if you wanna... haha. That sucks, so you were alone which is nice, but if Geno was shotty that could have sorta been payback from him denting your car... that sucks bro.Get a C30 or some shit, Volvo For Life.-John

S8ET6
Sorry about your loss... I love my S80 and I'm sure that you'll miss her.I don't want to sound callous - but if it's totaled are you open parting it out?I'd be interested in the engine, and maybe the transmission too. E_S80
Well at least I won't have to deal with any future transmission problems I'm supposed to hear back from the insurance on Monday, but yeah I'm guessing it's gonna be totaled too. If that's the case, I'm most likely gonna let insurance take it and give me a check... I'll keep you guys updated though. That sucks, so you were alone which is nice, but if Geno was shotty that could have sorta been payback from him denting your car... that sucks bro.Haha.. I know...he lucked out, now he won't have to pay for fixing the dent on the other side of the car. :D
