9883
I recently got a stud conversion kit from ebay. Here is what happened when I tightened it to 81 ft lbs of torque.I have send over 30 emails in the past 3 weeks asking him to replace the broken stud and asking him if this hardware is made to proper specs and where is it made. I have send him the picture and never got any resolution. I finally started to write emails asking to purchase one replacement stud, no response. I got very pissed off and decided to just buy another set. He blocked my ebay account so I won't be able to purchase. I used my other account, purchased another set and paid. He reported me to ebay for trying to purchase from another account. So now I'm left with 19 studs of inferior quality and strength, which are of no use at all, and he has my money. I just don't want other people to be taken by this con artist and cheap junk peddler. On ebay he operates under the name eurosportgarage but he also has other shell companies:1. Emotion Garage (a phisical location in CA)2.Emotion International3.Egsolidsports
(n)A-GAME
why would you buy another set after you had problems with the first?

HeavyIron
For something as critical as wheel studs, I would only go with grade 8 hardware from a well known supplier like HRP. (Hoer Racing Products) Cheap is not worth the hassle
9883
why would you buy another set after you had problems with the first?Originally I suspected that it was just a defect and that if I get a replacement than I can install the set on my car. But after doing some research, including posting on this forum, I realized that these studs are of very inferior quality. He claims on his listing that they are 1040 heat treated steel, grade 8 hardware. I think it's pure BS because if they were they would not snap under 81ft lbs of torque under any circumstance. After some searching I found other forums with people who have also been ripped off by this seller.

(Hoer Racing Products) Cheap is not worth the hassleThey only carry press in studs and no 12mx1.75 studs. These are suposed to be grade 8.

tozovr
I know most folks (Moroso etc) indicate they exceed grade 8 and the Porsche studs are said to be 10.1. All about shear strength.

Yellow95
Arent you the same person that gave me shit about my non name brand BBK? Karma is a bitch huh? You would only step up and buy a "real" bbk but you cheap out on studs that actually hold the wheels over that bbk huh. Maybe next time save that lunch money and buy from a real company.GaryPS- Can you tell I am enjoying this wayyyy to much?
TRACStar
maybe the studs are too long therefore bottoming out on the capped lug and the tread having no where else to go? grab it in a vice and see how much is in the nut....not saying that they are not cheap but i've had similar probs before
Pops Racer
Shouldn't YOU be filing a complaint with Ebay?

The lug nuts are deep enough to accomodate the entire length of the stud shank.
