TorqueSteer
Ok...First of all, that spring rate with the koni's you are asking for trouble if you race. As far as I can tell you are overwhelming the valving on the koni's with that stiff and low of a spring. There is some geometry involved here. What you need to do is talk to toweryMT on tbricks. Or even search tbricks for information. It has been covered extensively.Also... any sleeve will work, you just have to take some material off the strut body. As long as you don't jeopardize the integrity of the strut you should be fine. You don't wan't too stiff... you will have more issues with suspension than you know how to fix/deal with. Just my 2 cents... check tbricks for infor about spring rates and the valving on different struts.I see where you are coming from. For street use though, I think my setup does a great job: 10" 475# springs. I had to perform an emergency "get out of the way" procedure on the highway at about 80mph the other week, and I was amazed at how stable the car was at that speed. 550
Oh no doubt hehe. With 10 inch springs you are better. There is more travel. With an 8 inch spring it will not only be VERY low you will not have as much travel. You have Koni adjustables?
HtownTurboBrick
can we get some pictures of 8" vs. 10" setup ride heights? how low are we talking?
550
Well maybe not low being such an issue... but bottoming out the insert possibly. As for pics... I have none :-/ You can see different setups on tbricks with a little searching. Since they are such a high # it may not even be an issue. But with the valving on the Koni's I don't know how they will work out with those high spring rates.http://www.kaplhenke.com/index.php?option=...2&Itemid=32Shortened inserts... may be the answer. I now have the Koni adjustable based coilvers. I have that first set that GT2 made, the one used to make the DIY. Heres a pic of the lowest you can go with the 10" springs. Keep in mind that the tires are pretty skinny, some 45 profile tires will fill out the wheel well nice. Any lower and you will run into problems with speed bumps and inclines, trust me...ive been there and its not fun.
