1996 Volvo 850 Turbo Fs

Recommended Posts

This has been one of my favorite cars. I was going to go full project with it, but I bought another project car for that purpose, and this one is just in the way. Because of a new job with Toyota, and the fact that I have three cars and a bike, I have to get rid of the Volvo that I drive once or twice a week to keep from getting parking tickets. The car runs really strong, is pretty quick, and has been nothing but reliable for me.

It has: Bilstein shocks, Vogtland springs, samco turbo hoses, silicone vac lines, OMP strut brace, QBM sway endlinks, qbm transmission mount, 3 inch catback, 3 inch cat, ATS wheels, R bumper, poly top upper mount, poly rear top mount, new upper strut mounts, turbo timer, ground wire kit (I know...), Blaupunkt CD/MP3 player with a 10 inch sub in the back; the oil, and plugs have been changed religiously. Dark tint in the back, had to remove the front for a fixit ticket.

Cosmetically the body is in good shape, there is one small dent on the back and the rear bumper has about 1/2 inch gap. Interior is good too, with a couple of seat creases that are lending to cracks.

the front tires are very good with about 70% tread left. The rear ones are worn on the outer edge, but are still good.

The bad:

-The RMS was leaking very slowly. I put some additive for RMS leaks and it seems to have cured it (for now).

-The AC doesn't work, because of the compressor probably, nor does the heater core, I bypassed it.

- The odometer just stop turning the mileage over. It has about 160,000 miles on it give or take a couple, but the odometer stopped at 155,000 a few of months ago. I heard it's common.

-the sunroof stuck open the other day and it took a while for me to get it closed, son of a...

And thats about it.

I want to get about $2500.00 for it but am open to offers. If I can part it out for that I am willing to do that too. So if anyone wants to make parts offers, once I get the right money amount for parts I'll start stripping her down. Any questions, you can email me at :

Here is a pic of the dent and gap :

There is very slight rash on all the wheels but one is unmolested, this shows the other cosmetic issue which is slight scratching on rear fender. All the cosmetic issues came with the car when I bought it.

Interior is ok, but the back seats are immaculate:

Pretty standard engine bay, except for maybe the extra leaves.

I tried to keep it red:

Thanks for looking.!
