Matts 850 GLT
Having looked at loads of T5's I finally found one that suited me its my new project and needs work.......lol.How can I sort out the following??- Puff of blue smoke on cold start.- clunk on right hand lock can feel it through the steering wheel- cluck in the steering wheel when I roll off from stand still (poss related to above)- Exhaust tip is very black so I thought its running rich but trip computer says gas mileage is quite good, 29mpg!!- It isn't boosting properly and not giving enough power it had a recon turbo in 07 so I am thinking a the myriad of hoses need checking.Car is 96 T5 auto and everything is standard but before I do stage 0 I want to make sure the basics are sound like oil seals and compressionCan anyone can shed light on the clunking and blues smoke??Matt

Kevin M
Just putting in my 2 cents when I bought a Mitsubishi Diamante that had the same symptom with yours, but ocassionally wanted to die out if you did not step on the accelerator slightly.I got some input on a mechanic but never got around to fixing it so it's not a solution but a start.I would Start with the cheapest part, the PVC valve, move on to the Air flow meter and finally the Air regulator. Try to Google different types of exhaust smokes on automobiles for symptoms and solutions.Good luck and if this works out any it'd be nice to know for future reference.Thanks.Kevinearthguy007@yahoo.com
