scantech=breaktech if you like doing the same things to your car over and over again then by all means buy that stuff. I think adam had troubles with his controll arms and numerous people had the coolant resevoir crack after being only months old for example

oh and alot of people had troubles with the bosch wires

you just have to be picky about what you buy from FCP to make sure you're getting an OEM part or a brand that OEM actually is when you buy from them

So, if Bosch wires are no good, what's OEM?

 that wasnt posted towards you but some others on this board that arnt smart enought to relize there a volvo dealer.

more towards certian people that have been over charging for items that arnt worth what they charge for ;)

You obviously aren't capable of comprehending this. Try reading the off topic posts or Disney.com

I was able to get a discount based on the volume of parts I bought and then was able to sell them to the Volvo community for less than you could buy them from the dealer and make a buck on it at the same time. Now the fact that I spend tens of thousands of dollars more than you ever will yearly with a dealer you get the same cost as me. Hence, I no longer sell OEM Volvo parts which I had up until Waltrip entered the picture. I always have handled the hard to find parts and the most common parts. I only use OEM parts for replacement parts, and wouldn't suggest anything else. This was a complimentary revenue stream that allowed me some financial flexibility to R&D parts.

Someday you will need a hard to find OEM Volvo part that only I have, and I can't wait!

You cannot buy the Porsche BBK from Waltrip. In fact you may not be able to buy it again. I am about out of stock and will likely not produce them any longer, and if I do you will have to buy them from IPD.

There is no hard to find volvo part there all in Vadis you just have to have a parts department that knows how to use it or you have a copy and know how to use its . its not that hard.

And again we as consumers have been overpaying for years so ?

Finally we get a Dealer that prices parts correctly and others that have been making a few bucks on over price parts complain .

Sorry i dont feel sad for anyone that is complaining since I do buy loads from them avarage 4-500 a month lately and now its even gotten better.

They have been doing this for years its not something they just started last week YEARS at least 5 + years.

OK, how about a shift knob for a manual T-5R? mat set for a T-5R with the gold stitching on all four mats? 850R mat set?, carbon fibre spark plug cover? Can they get you any of those? Give him a call on Monday and see what you find. I have all of them in stock. i will provide you with part numbers if you like.

You simply don't understand that prior to now there was tiered pricing. The more you spent with a dealer the better pricing you got. This allows independent shops to make a small profit on parts and gives them incentive to use OEM parts.

They have only been doing this since the beginning of this year.

I have been buying from them for 5+ years and have been getting this type of pricing since then .

when the local dealer wanted $400 for a titan wheel I paid then $200 + shipipng

again this is nothing new to me buying from them

And you have nothing special in finding hard to find parts , those parts arnt made anymore , due to people hording them and freaking overchargning for them since there rare and people are stupid to overpay for them.

I can get a knock off of the CF cover and all the other items from willie for what your charging for one.

I can send my shift boot to Polland and have one made for free from www.redlinegoods.com so he has a test unit to make other people ones.

I can also get it in any type of leather. ( I have already done this ) :D

And for $300 or what ever for a shift knob only a idtot its going to pay that much for one I would take a Momo Shift knob over that .

I got a Stock S60R one for my car for free :D

And again I have been getting this priciing for a long time , not ony with them but the dealer down in texas does the same thing but there service was ehh at best.

Are you a shop or individual buyer? If you are a shop that's why you have been receiving those prices all along.

So if you have all the hook ups why aren't you offering all of these parts to fellow VS'ers. What can't be bothered? Isn't worth your time?

The knock off CF cover isn't as nice.

The shift boots are still available, but not for long. Any good upholstery shop can do that in the US.

I prefer the OEM look over the Momo

Frankly it's a moot point. I have the parts and I choose who I want to sell them to and for what price now.

I think it's hoard, not to be confused with whored, as in whored out.

BTW, you should ask George over at VIVA why he doesn't sell OEM parts any more.

Individual buyer but have been sending people to them for years.

But own enough volvos to be a volvo shop

Well this year I could of been a volvo shop.

Think a total of 8 volvos bought this year half sold other half parted out. Still have 2 more to finish up and sell .

And not to rain on your parade at all , you make some quality items and espcially when they cant be hand before.

Now you have others getting in it finally and making ok products but again if I buy a OBX DP for $200 where yours is $800 + ............

Is there a difference in SS ? I dont know in Quality ? there is pretty freaking nice will it last as long as yours ?

Dont know but am I willing to spend $200 on one yes $800 no .

I have had the hookup for a long time and have posted them a million times here but no one ever listened up till this past year or so when I started working on volvos when I lost my real job and everyone started questioning me on where I got my parts from .

Sure as hell isnt the local dealer even with a VOCA discount its nothing compared to what they offer.

yeah not whored  and it was a smart idea to do it , since what you paid for them you can sell them now for double of there orignal cost .

Personally for a non mech part thats only for looks I will cheap on that item .

Who says he doesn't? Have you checked his website lately? He sells a lot of OEM Volvo parts.

He still has them listed, but doesn't stock many of them any longer. When was the last time you bought from him?

Seeing as I own this car, you make a valid point...

... EXCEPT.

When you put those parts up for sale, I laugh at the prices. I'm not saying I should get them dirt cheap (nor should anyone else) but just because it's rare doesn't mean I don't want a deal. I'd rather spend a little less, still get an OEM part, and not have to sit there and try to justify spending hundreds of dollars on my shift knob, than do the opposite.
