The only reason oil prices came down from 147/brrl was worries about the economic outlook of the world as a whole. The increases only had a very small impact, and very temporary as well.If people were buying less gas, aka slowing demand, prices would fall anyway. You don't bitch when American oil companies are making record profits during the record high prices, but you complain when OPEC changes production?Saudi Arabia raised its own production 3 different times (or more) during June because they were afraid the high fuel cost would reduce the world appetite for oil. That is more newsworthy than this story. Production is always cut in the fall because demand falls during winter. Demand from the southern hemisphere is never enough to compensate.You also can't have wildly fluctuating prices, which is what I believe Joe is refering to. I am all for glassing them and exxon , chevron and the rest . A fuck venezuala or what ever.
