Boost Increase With Silicone Hoses?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

First off, thanks to all who replied to my "Stylin vs. Samco" thread. I think I'm going to order the Stylin hoses, they seem to be the way to go (no offense to Samco, as they seem very good as well). Just one more question though...How many on here actually saw an improvement in boost pressure once the silicone hoses were installed? I have 121k miles on my S70 (2000 AWD), none of the hoses leak to my knowledge (not to say they don't, just not that I know of :D). I am only hitting 6 psi now, with a full stage 0 (other than these intercooler hoses). I'd love to get to the full 8 psi that I have heard is stock. Anyway, before I drop $175 on a set of hoses, I'm just curious to see what the concensus is on the life span of the factory hoses...

Thanks in advance,

Joe

I could be wrong, have been before...but I think you have other issues at play here....this car should be hitting roughly 9lbs stock...or am I mistaken?

GLT's are spec'd at 8 psi, not sure if that would vary between my FWD GLT and an AWD GLT though. We were talking about this after we threw on my front bumper.

At the age of the your hoses you will notice a difference, plain and simple. Your hoses at their age are most likely ballooning, and maybe leaking minamally. With new hoses the air flow will be more concentrated and direct giving you more boost.

Is that a money-back guarantee?:D Also, what is the best discount you can give a supporting member right now? I saw a 30% off sale a few weeks back. Still honor that?...

Thanks,

Joe
