turbomoose
Thanks! And I try my very best!I was thinking the brake caliper! Because I have NEW Brembo rotors all around (Yes, the kind that tick) new VOLVO pads all around, and for a while now the drivers front brake has been making a horrible grindling noise when I brake with more than normal force. I've taken the brakes apart about 3 times, there's no roughness anywhere on the rotor or pads, the caliper pins are all smooth, and greased. And the pads are wearing evenly. But it constantly makes that odd noise when I brake hard. So maybe I need to rebuild my calipers. ...But I just don't feel like that's it. I'll try touching the caliper and having my assistant try to re-create the noise.
AlvinL
How's the front engine mount (right side of car)? Maybe with the engine torque, the knocking is happening.
turbomoose
I forgot to add. Both front and rear hydraulic mounts replaced. Both upper and lower torque mounts replaced. The rubber mount near the crank is also new.All genuine Volvo parts. All replaced in Feb.And excellent note. The right mount was bad right before I decided to replace all the mounts. It made a tapping knocking noise almost similar to this. But this noise is on the drivers side.

ryan850-t5
lol darn, the motor mounts were my guess. did you replace the front left one too? i hear a clunk when i back up and then go forward and its because of two bad motor mounts, not the one on the right side that you can see when you take the wheel off, but the ones like you posted. ryan

turbomoose
If I don't figure it out before my Service light comes on again, I'm going to have them "diagnose" it fix it and have it aligned....My dealership REALLY sucks on tricky diagnosis tho. But they sure charge you for it even if they can't figure it out.
