turbomoose
so you going to tell us what exactly they found out was the creaking noise if it was coming from under the car or at the top of the strut tower?I already said they replaced the stabilizer bar. That's it.
turbomoose
WOW! There's NO noise AT ALL!!! I also got a 4 wheel alignment, with a 6mo. 6K mile warranty and the car doesn't pull left or right at all!!! My 5K service was done too. And all that goodness came to $156!It's SO nice to have MY car back and be rid of that NA loaner!

And all that goodness came to $156!It's SO nice to have MY car back and be rid of that NA loaner!I've got a '94 850 Estate and thought that I had some front end issues but your noise seemed to be the most curious thing. But it's cool you were able to finally solve the problem. My issue is that I have a pull to the right when braking. The car seems to be braking harder on the right than on the left. This causes me to have to steer back to the left to maintain a straight line.Full suspension all around has been replaced. Rotors front and rear are new as well as pads. calipers (front), flex lines and fluid. Struts, shocks, mounts, sway bar links, all hardware, steering rack and power steering lines. I can't figure why this is happening and thought I'd ask for some help from you as you've replaced a number of things up front. Got any idea's?Thank's man. turbomoose
Well, since it occurs when you're braking, I'd assume it would be a faulty caliper. Likely if it's an inexpensive rebuild. Is there more brake dust on that rim than the other?? This wont be applicable if you have Columba rims, since they're fan directional. turbomoose
YUP. Stabiliser bar is the volvo part name, so that's what I'm calling it, but it's all the same stuff. I had to have it replaced because the rubber bushings were allowing it to clatter against the clamps. And since it's been less than a year and 12K miles I took it in to the dealer who installed it, they diagnosed it themselves, ordered a replacement and installed it.It's SO much better now. Completely silent, absolutely NO pulling at all. I love it. But my headlights SUCK compared to the loaner S40. But I'd NEVER want an NA.
