Transmission Fluid For Hard Shifting

Hi guys 95 850 with 145k on it, I've done 3 drain/refills with generic Dex III ATF and the "clunking" into neutral is gone on stops and accompanying slips are gone but now I get a hard shift into and out of 3rd gear. On MVS, MIJ recommended Mobile 1 ATF is that a good idea for our 850's? I posted there too but I know this site gets a bit more traffic.

I think this is it, correct?

Also mentioned was Mobile 3309 but it seems that might be for newer cars? Or older cars that have slippage but not hard shifts?

There is actually a Volvo TSB that recommends the use of Mobil 3309 for hard shifts in the AW tranny found in the 850s and 98 S70s.

I don't dare to try it, but Mobil 1 ATF did a pretty good job of smoothing things out when I flushed my tranny on my 850.

I have hard shifts too and the torque steer is just stupid. I really wish the tq steer was coming from an abundance of ...torque. I have tried the high mileage Valvoline product with no luck. I just change the fluid and deal with it. The car has about 200k now and it is not worth messing with too much. I wouldn't mind a 5sp swap after the auto dies. I also read that the stiff shifting can be an electronics issue with the trans. Either way I hope this thread doesn't turn into another what trans fluid to use...should I change my fluid...what method...will it break my trans... garbage thread of nonsense arguing. But if you have something to add about hard shifting please post up.
