Volvo Virgin
Like it says....but in a little more detail. The window switch on the RF door panel started acting funky about a week ago. It wouldn't put the window down, but would function to put it back up. The master window switch control worked the window fine however. I figured at that point it was the single switch in the RF door. Okay, fast forward to today and yesterday and now the window doesn't want to work from any of the switches, except very, very spiradically at which point it will work for a split second from the master switch and only move an inch or two before becoming INOP again.So...is this a switch problem or a relay or motor problem. Help me out here with your expertise and/or similar experiences. Thanx guys.

Cal3thousand
Do you have a multimeter? You need to find out where the break in the circuit is. I'm imagining that it is right by the RF motor. If you need more instructions on how, let me know.
Joe Mc
Rob,On my wife's 01 when the pass door window stopped working the lock and mirror didn't function either. It ended up being the control module located inside the door panel, below the up/down and lock button. It set me back almost $200.00 shop to shop cost for the part, another $40 for the software needed to program it and $100 to actually program the new part to work. Talk about a friggin racket !!! I should have tried a few scrap yards like the folks here suggested when I found out the price of the part and what was needed to make it work. From what I was told if the part was in a similar car in the scrap yard it would already have the programming needed - plug and play. Oh well . . . Good luck,Joe Mc

I pulled the master switch apart, cleaned the contacts and it's working again.

Call your dealer and ask a service advisor if they have a tester switch you could drop by and use real quick (I have one in my desk for this purpose). Try it and if it works just tell him it didn't, run home, and get one off the interwebs.
