Spoke with Accralite, they wanted £155 + VAT each plus i needed to send them a standard piston to work from, so thats out, JE want $175 each, but then i have delivery and customs to think about. So it looks like I shall get a set of SPM pistons for just under £600.

You will run out of turbo on both the choices you posted long before even stock pistons fail you.

Eh... maybe, but considering he'd probably at least be replacing the piston rings on the stock pistons... the price of rings alone can justify an aftermarket forged alternative.

I would take measurements before replacing anything dealing with pistons and check the ringlands

If you can even find stock rings.

How much are a set of pistons w/ rings going for?

I'm planning a build. I know I'll spend $500 ish for the R-Sport rods but pistons and rings, IDK? All the mentioned compaines have decent reps. I don't want to spend a billion dollars though.

Which brings me to the bearing question. When doing a build do you guys use stock bearings? What are the options there?

IIRC, I paid about $80.00 per piston from a buddy at a dealer. I used OEM bearings, but like stated, others have used Calico.
