turbowagoneer855
Mornin' folks! My motor and steering rack are out of the eng bay (for replacement purposes), and I lowered the subframe, with my initial intention to replace the subframe bushings. But, they look not cracked and still soft enough imo. Also, the sway's bushings, which I understand are not replaceable, look like they still have at least some life left in them. The car has 150K and wasn't abused (hard cornering, and so on).The real Q I've: will these bushings last for another year or so? I intend to re-build my busted motor, the one I'm replacing right now with a jy unit, and drop it back in in hopefully in about a year time (when I want togo for the swaybar set sold by ipd anyway). I kno wthat the sway and subframe bushings can be done with the mottor installed, but it seems easier to do it with the motor outta there! right now, I'm here with my work:
bum2kev
you can do the subframe bushings with the motor installed, you have to lift the engine and remove the subframe though...most people will say dont replace them. but its really up to you.
