turbowagoneer855
...and don't have the HAynes with me, forgot it at the shop.so what's the "scientific" name and what does it do? it's located on the intake hose going into the turbo. It's sort of an electric valve??anyways, here's a pic: another Q: the bottom gasket is ready to go into the trash, it's mushy and cracked (i'm sure that's it's still the original in there). Do I need to buy the whole part to be able to get a new seal,? (since I can't name it, I can't search!)Thanks a mill!

You can't buy that part by itself, you have to get the intake hose where it's installed. http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exec/prod.../category_id/
mkc70
You can see the sensor on the "turbo air intake hose" from vendor images online. I took mine off as well and have been unable to find it individually from the hose. Thought it was part of the pcv system. Googled the part# and came up with nada. turbowagoneer855
I've double-checked in chilton's, and the pic on page 4-27 shows a certain "pressure servo wastegate valve", and a "tc control valve" (turbo only, it says)sooooo, it might be R then ?? the arrow on the illustration kinda points in the general area where it's actually located... randomdude
maybe put some silicone or something around the seal before you put in and then some more on the outside to seal it off to get you by for a while. what does this part due? it looks like a pcv check ball valve inside, so i sprayed mine out with metal parts cleaner, was that ok? Account_Deleted_T5M
You could probably get a used one off a junked car. I clean mine out every oil change, as oil and crap gets in there
randomdude
could a poor seal around the base be causing a intermitten vac leak?
