mbsl98
We just had a couple of instances where the throttle on an 850NA stuck wide open after being floored. No jokes about NA and being floored....... Anyway, it turned out to be simply a lube issue, on the shaft that the throttle cable spool rotates on. I mention it because I have never pulled that spool to clean and lube its shaft on any of our Volvo's, and that could have ended up in a good accident. I only slid the spool about half-way off the shaft because I didn't know if the big spring in there would come loose That was enough to work some PB Blaster in, and follow it with a few squirts of oil. The spool is only held with a C-clip. Anyone know what happens if you just slide the spool right off the shaft? I've got a few more of these to get to, now that I see the potential. Note that this spool is the same on all 850/X70's, turbo or not, AFAIK.
