EVERYONE THIS IS EXACTLY HOW YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO DO IT

:arob:

Seriously how many broken tranny threads do we need ?

The real question is yeah it went on but does the crank spin ?

whynot? the crank turns ok

it takes a bit more jiggling, but it's all good!

and if it breaks, i have spares! B)

so, even if the bellhousing went all the way in, there's a chance the input shaft isn't indexed right? I know what the books say, but I wanted to try something new.

the way i did it wass: I had an assistant turn the crank, while I was slowly pushing on the transmission's body, until it slided in effortlessly (didn't come out right, did it? :) )

Shouldn't this be pinned as how not to do things?

Or how to properly do things WRONG?

 Win from Nathan Again

ok can you turn the crank the whole way around ..............

acutally dont both you will break something .

take it off put the torque converter in the tranny and bolt it up the correct way.

theres a reason for everything in the repair manual. its called a short cut , and short cuts is not the right way to go in the book.

Beat me to it, thanks Jared.

Yeah, sometimes you're better off not re-inventing the wheel. Sorry bud.
