fasteddyT5
I've got a 1998 S70, and when i use my rear-defrost it causes a lot of static on my radio, so that only one station comes in. I know that i have two broken filaments in the grid, but i wouldn't think that would cause a problem. Its really annoying to only be able to listen to one crappy station in the morning while i wait for the window to defrost.Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix/diagnose the problem?thanks
StylinMotors
Could be a grounding short.
randomdude
i do not have that problem. grounding issue as ^ suggested, or the noise filter in your alternator/radio (could have both)
Cal3thousand
Could be a grounding short.sounds like a winner. OP:Do you have a wiring diagram for your car? you could try to find the common ground back there and test it.

What is the radio suppression relay and where is located? Is it part of the radio or somewhere else?
