mstager
I noticed that my cv boots are both torn open and has been that way for several months now. I now have a real bad rumbling noise coming from my pass front end. noise goes away when I am truning the wheel to the right but as soon as I straighten the wheel it is loud again. What is going on here??? is it my hub bearing or is my axel shaft getting worse?? any help would be great.. Any place to get inexpensive parts? I dont plan to keep the car for much longer if I can help it. It was a great car until the car overheated and the rear main seal is leaking among other typical issues for a 11 year old car with 180k on it. CA855R
I would replace both axles along with new front wheel bearings. Not too expensive neither...

Hellas850 T-5
Don't change your wheel bearings,if it was the it,the noise would be there all the time.
855R
When my wheel bearing went bad it made a hint of noise going straight, but got very loud when I turned the wheel while rolling.
halewai
When my wheel bearing went bad it made a hint of noise going straight, but got very loud when I turned the wheel while rolling.Yeah.. I would just replace those drive axles. They should be anymore than $110 a piece, and they are fairly easy to replace if you are a bit savvy with cars, or at least if you know someone who is.
