You can't remove it, since it seals the diff, and without the angle gear, there is nothing to retain it. Maybe "project 6" will respond if you PM him - his is FWD install.You will also ned to get the casting for the rear mount off the donor car, and perhaps the hydraulic mount - I dunno if it's the same as yours.In addition, you will need to modify the shift cable mount forks on the trans - they're not the same as 850/x70 series. Big Will Posted November 19, 2008 Report Share Posted November 19, 2008 There are FWD M66 transmissions from S40 T5 FWD cars which were only made from 04.5 through the 06 model year for the US market.I believe Project 6 used an AWD M66 tranny for his 850 swap. Big Will Posted November 19, 2008 Report Share Posted November 19, 2008 S40 is a 5 cylinder engine just like the 850/70 series. I'm not it's the same engine, but same basic layout.
