Would it be possible to swap the T5 motor out of a 2000/2001 V70R (I believe this is the one with the blue top and the 19T) into the bay of my T5-R?I know this might be rudimentary, but I don't know the motors well enough to know whether or not there are differences which would prevent this.Thanks in advance! :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Chilled man Posted November 20, 2008 Report Share Posted November 20, 2008 my understanding ..... you will have to use the head off your car and you could use the bottome end on R engine. since the top end has the VVT where yours doenst. but the bottome end on all the engines shoudl tech bolt up since they all bolt up to the same trannys. For whatever reason I got on that "dear god what would I do if my motor went" train of thought, and had decided on "find a wrecked R motor w/ 19t" or "find someone selling one", and then just mating the correct ECU to it.... I'm sure I just jinxed myself , but if I could do it it'd be more than worth it to me. I'd rather pay a bit more for the entire engine/turbo/ecu and have them all be built in unison than get another of the same motor I'm running and try to source together the 19t and all the other necessary accoutrement, haha.
