jazzyjeff
When did craftsman become respectable?Since they've offered a lifetime gaurantee and I've always lived within 5 minutes of one. I have quite a few Snap-On tools as well from a previous job but now I'm a lowly elementary school teacher and can't afford to play with the big boys like yourself. I will take Kobalt from home depot over craftsman. Even great neck from auto zone is better and cheaper.

And actually, I think the torx screwdriver set I have is GreatNeck. Somehow I tend to break ratchets and torque wrenches pretty easily so the Crafstman warranty works pretty well for me. smokin' T5M
I have Mac and Snap-on at work, makes life wonderful and they are always my first choice. Home Depot and Lowe's have decent tools as well. If you are going to buy the screwdriver type then you make the decision based on how the feel in your hand and if you can get some good torque out of them, are the too long or short, and do they have an area on the larger sizes to put a wrench on. The larger sizes like 25-40 are the ones to look for the hex mounts on. It's not bad to have the sockets for things like door catches and some engine components. Sears is good too. These days almost every tool manufacturer gives a lifetime warranty. Good luck

I left a 290 piece crapsman set on the side of the road it pissed me off so bad. Lifetime replacement = goodNot breaking th begin with = priceless

the commissar!
When the offered a lifetime warranty? When Sears goes out of business this wont help anyone....and now-a-days that is a risk with any company and their lifetime warranty. So be sure whatever you choose is quality to begin with unless you intend for it to be disposable in the first place...like your HF set which you are ditching now. Not dissing them, I have some HF and Northern tools...its just hit & miss.Che said it best Lifetime replacement = goodNot breaking to begin with = pricelessFree replacement is not going to help me much when I'm under a car at 3am. wheelsup
I do actually have the HF torx set but haven't opened it and was considering something else for my wife to pickup instead, but sounds like others have it and it has worked well for them, so I'll go with that for now. I was just trying to see if anyone else had them. Also they do come with a lifetime warranty on them but like others said I could care less about that as long as they won't strip out the torx bit. PharmD
I have a nice set of Craftsman Torx bits that are for use with (I think) 3/8" drive wrenches, etc. Very satisfied with them!
