sconeman
Bump for more opinions and experiences.I don't know how much help I'm gonna be, but, I believe I have the same situation and was planning on posting a thread about it. I just got the same code, and am 99% positive that I don't have a vac leak because I have been through every single thing 3 times over . My car burns a pretty significant amount of oil. Up to 2 quarts every 2500 miles : ( I've gotta get a compression test done to find if it's top or bottom. if you determine that it's the O2 please post about it. RussB
I'm going to focus my attention on the evaporative emissions system. I won't be surprised to see a busted or rotted elbow. The fluctuating idle is consistent with a vac. leak.I don't think it's an O2 sensor issue at this time

Like 1000 versus the standard 850 rpms. Personally I haven't replaced the evap container..It would be wierd if we were having the same exact problem right now. There are plenty of cars out there burning oil and don't get codes.O2 sensors will throw their own codes when they go bad.Just because you have checked 3 times for a leak doesn't mean you didn't miss it. :)
