Bazarvospeed
Went to wawa to use my X-mas credit card and used it to top off my tank. I had credit for $20.00 and the tank topped off just about 30 cents before using up the card. I figured ahhhh just top it off with the 30 cents. The car ran leaving the wawa then I went to the grocery store. Coming back out in about 20 minutes. Started the car and it kind of stumbled. Tried starting the car with no luck. I suppose I topped the fuel off too much and cuased some kind of problem. I called Jack ( AZNJippiJAk ) and see what he says. Could possibly be a air leak or a ruptured line? I couldnt seem to find a air leak near the turbo either. I wanted to see what you people come up with before I actually get the car towed. I would like to go back to the car tomorrow and see what I could do. I'm not getting any engine lights either Thanks people , - Bazarnik

I seriously doubt the two things are correlated (top up and the no start) I top off most every time to no failure. Maybe they had bad fuel and you're sucking some garbage. Or maybe just by chance you lost the fuel pump or relay. Either way, i would start troubleshooting NOT based on any assumption about the top off. Serge
Could be your fuel pump. Mine did a very similar thing. Basically it'll crank once and run for a second and then sputter (using up the remaining fuel in the line). Try to prime the fuel pump by leaving it off for a bit, put it into position II for a few seconds, then crank it. It might catch and run for a second or two.If that happens, chances are your fuel pump is on it's way out. If it doesn't catch at all, the relay might be bad (check a thread I had recently regarding the repair of a fuel pump relay, many people posted lots of great links that helped me fix a dying one).Hope that helps in some way! Bazarvospeed
hmm lets see if these help...... The car did start but stumbling & shutting down. I do smell fuel. I do top off often , but this time I did top off like crazy sqeezing the very last cent out of my wawa gift card. I drove about 5 miles to the grocery store before shutting off the car again. I didnt try the key thing yet. anything else people? I am going back to the car tomorrow with your inputs and see what happens.

I am going back to the car tomorrow with your inputs and see what happens.pump relay is labeled "103" and it's under the hood on the drivers side in the main panel. it's the easiest test to do. How many miles on your pump and has it ever been out? Call Jamie or Don if you need one. I think i paid under $300 for the pump and relay shipped from them. OEM. HtownTurboBrick
check your fuel pump relay, search cn90 for a relay bypass thread he wrote early this year. if it's the fuel pump, which you'll find out once you try the bypass to see if its the relay or not, then just get a walboro 255lph pump, shouldn't cost more the $95 and an upgrade while you're at it. another good test for the pump also is to have someone listen to hear if the pump primes when you turn the key to position II
Ozark Lee
I dont have an extra relay laying. is there a way to test it?If you remove relay 103 and look on the bottom there are numbers molded into the plastic next to each terminal. The numbers are 31, 31b, 15, and 87. Fashion a jumper wire between the socket positions associated with pins 15 and 87. If everything is good with it jumpered the relay is going south. You can fix it yourself with a couple of bucks worth of Radio Shack parts if you know how to solder. I did a writeup here:http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9681I have had trouble after I topped off before and it was just to get to the next round 50¢ interval. I'm not so sure that it doesn't flood the charcoal canister with liquid rather than vapor. In my case it cleared up after about 50 miles and now I just run the gas pump until it clicks off....Lee

So my guess if the charcoal canister is flooded...the car wont start? I guess in my case , I flooded it big time. because damn ...i was really topping the tank off I'm gonna give the relay jumper a shot as well as running to the yard and grab a few fuel relays while im at it. cn90
Hi,Couple thoughts,1. Yes, Lee is correct, bypass 15 and 87 terminals, if car runs then fuel relay is bad:http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php?s...ssed+fuel+relay2. May be contaminated (water) fuel? Bazarvospeed
What are my gains for a Walboro 255lph pump, if I end up needing one? also would I be getting more or less MPG? I really want to run this car to the ground. My plans powerwise is to at least get FMIC & 3" Exhuast one day after doing stage 0.
Bazarvospeed
Thanks Lee & cn90 and the rest of you for your inputs.
