filter is a black canister under the passenger side rear, just in front of the rear wheels. there's also a pressure release valve you can use to get some of that gas out instead of siphoning it. as long as your car is awd there's an access port to the fuel pump underneath the carpet right behind the rear passenger side seat.

yes found that while I was there again. but I didnt know about the release valve. But I did siphone about 2 gal. out of the tank. still no luck.

I guess it really is the pump? So no I dont got the AWD. So tht means I need to drop the tank huh.

I guess I'll look into deciding if im going for walboro or OEM. I do plan on keeping the car for a long time.

no the AWD you have to drop the entire rear suspension and tank. FWD has the access port in the back so you're good. Besides if you were AWD walboro is not an option since the fuel tank is a horse shoe shapped design with a master pump and secondary pump that flows from one side of the tank to the other and that requires an OEM unit. not that it matters in your case but just an FYI.

Have you listened for the fuel pump to come on at all? have someone climb into the rear and listen right above the access port as you turn the key into pos II. they should be able to hear the pump, if it's dead silent then theres your culprit. if they hear a whirring noise, thats not your problem. did you replace the filter while you took some fuel out?

Did you change the fuel filter? It's only $20.

ok back from the car for the second time.....

Heres what I have come up with. I checked the fuel pressure release valve...there was no fuel squirtin out. I climbed into the rear to access the fuel pump. I took off the fuel lines , and still dont have pressure / fuel squirtin.

so I guess the pump is really dead ? no noises came from it either.

I still havent tried replacing the filter since I have no fuel being pumped. whats your input?

Have you checked the fuse? Try to eliminate the obvious stuff. K.I.S.S. principle.

if theres no sound then the pump isn't priming and explains the lack of pressure. if you replaced the pump relay then theres your problem. time for the walboro

+1 ...... going to the yard tomorrow and get a used pump for now untill I can get a new one. Hopefully this will get the 855 up in running again to get it home.

1. check fuel pump fuese

2. check fuel pump relay - used or new if used get two of them :)

3. check fuel pump for power after jumpering out the relay

4. remove fuel rail connection drain it out and try to turn the car on again

-a. have fuel pressure check for spark

-b. if no fuel pressure take direct lines from batterie and jumper to fuel pump wires and see if pump runs

5. If fuel pressure is back in the line after you start the car , check for spark .

if pump doesnt run wiht direct 12v to it pump is bad replace with walrboro and buy it from joesph :)

if pump works both relays are shot / or fuese is poped and you didnt notice it the frist time.

Buy a new relay regardles other wise you will be doing this again soon ;)

Also get a new fuel filter regardless it shoudl of been replaced by now and takes less then 10 min to do
