Guard Rail >

Spun out on the highway last night into a guard rail, everyone (gf and I) is fine, car is not. Was cruising at 65-70, switched lanes braking....braked a little harder as I saw everyone in front of me do the same, trying to get to the exit ramp I imagine...I then feel shuddering in the brake pedal and next thing I know the rear is completely loose. Drifting, as it were, to the left, right (across 2-3 lanes with traffic all around), caught traction and it spun the car 180, hit the guard rail going backwards, bounced off and came to a stop going right ways. Could only compare it to a crash in the movies. Amazing car, definitely would have been 10X worse in any other. Don't think she's going to make it, the body damage alone is worth more then the car, insurance will probably total. I'll have some pictures up later, the tow truck just came to my house and took it to the insurance's inspectors.

I will be looking for another 98 S70 T5M to hopefully transplant most of the parts. If anyone knows of one I will be making reasonable offers. Must be MANUAL and I would love to get my color again, but I doubt that will happen. Anyone feel free to PM me with their car or another's even if you are only slightly interested in getting rid of it. Thanks guys.

Jared

You had an amazing color. Did the rims make it?

Yeah they're fine beside the front right, that'll need to be refinished, also have to check to see if it's bent, but I think it's fine. You'll see...lol

sorry to hear that jared, strange that the rear broke loose...same thing happened to my friends Saab 9-3, his lower coolant line had pinch split and some got on the rear tires spun out on an exit ramp

Yeah, I dunno. My entire radiator emptied out on the shoulder, figured it cracked in the accident but never know.
