It's a state law, as mentioned above my post. I had called my local DMV when I lived in Florida to ask about Joseph's S70, I wanted to see what was involved in getting it back on the road. And yes, when I told them the car was a salvage title in South Florida, she said I would never be able to have that car on the road in FL.

Sucks, but it has nothing to do with Geico (which isn't a great company, I agree).

Actually most cars totaled , flooded or pretty much a golfball dent on them get a demolition title

wich means to the scrap yard you go .

and will never go on the road anywhere in the US

Unless you swap vins ..............

Florida has the buttsexx of insurance laws down there.

pretty much one of the worst if not the worst state to own a car .

<_< I bought back my S70 a little over a year ago and I'm from Florida.

I was able to buy it back, but could NEVER register it again for road use. I was issued a Certificate of Destruction.

All that certificate allowed me to do was do what I or anyone wished with the car (aside from using it on the road)... then we must confirm that it went to a junkyard. Then, iirc, this would be verified by sending the signed certificate of destruction (by the junkyard/dismantler) back to the state.

Weird, was told there was no circumstance that I could get the car back. But I'll talk to the adjuster about that Certificate.

agreed less and kept your parts

start searching the local junkyards or ask the insurance agent who it gets sold to , you might be able to buy your stuff back dirt cheap

Unless you have liability insurance like I do, and insurance doesn't give you a dime. That leaves one 850 turbo platinum edition needing some parts if someone is interested in getting it back on the road :) Clean title... Needs subframe, control arms, axles, struts, some big hammer lovin... Etc

Also worth noting that Florida is amazing to own a car in for the mere fact that there are no state vehicle inspections or certifications of any sort. It's like mad max, as long as you have a license plate and insurance.
