Johnvk
I am just starting the process of removing my SC-901 and replacing it with an Eclipse AVN 6620 in my C70 convert. I intend to retain the factory amp, thus greatly minimizing the rewiring work. I have, however, not resolved two problems. The SC-901 has two antenna inputs; main and sub. How are these antenna inputs utilized in the AVN 6620 which has only one antenna input? Are they combined (which seems doubtful) or is only the main antenna utilized? The unit arrives tomorrow so I am unsure what trim (bezel) ships with it. I do believe that I'll be searching for a trim bezel to give it a finished appearance. Any suggestions from someone who has made similar installations? I'll probably be back with a few more questions but for starters I would appreciate any response to the above. Thanks!! BEJinFBK
Your HU should be plenty happy with the main. (the big one)Just be sure to connect the power ant lead from the HU toit's other side in the wiring harness. I'm pretty sure that themain ant uses an OEM amp that will need to see power. I'm pretty sure that themain ant uses an OEM amp that will need to see power. My radio circuit diagram shows the sub antenna with an OEM booster. Power source for this booster is not shown. If I'm not going to use the sub antenna then powering the booster should not be a necessity. Power is always supplied to the OEM amp and is switched on by the SC-901 HU. This switching provision is also provided by the AVN6620. This should be no problem. Switching power to raise and lower the power antenna is also controlled thru both the SC901 and the AVN6620.
