Circuit City is shit.

I don't what Dave had against Samsung. Prolly cause they are Korean instead of German.

I have a Samsung computer monitor and its great.

My suggestion to you would be to go to the store and look at all of them. Find a few you like and research them online.

good luck finding a 1080p quality tv for $500 :arob:

I have seen a lot of samsung and does not touch the quality of a Sony

'

Are you talking the regular Bravia Sony's or the XBR? Obv the basic Samsung's wont reach the quality of an XBR.

What exactly is it about the Sony's that you find superior to the Samsung's?

THE real question is..

I know there pretty much no difference on 32" between 720p and 1080p but what about when I connect my laptop ? I want to use as a monitor too

Vizio is the poor mans Sony

Wow, just wow. Really? Is that what you think because they're sold at Walmart?

This is what I do everyday for a living. We've hard tested almost every TV out there. We are the authorized dealer for more brands than any other company. IMO, knowing what holds up and what doesn't... what is a good picture and what is crap...

Vizio is the best bang for your buck out there. You have to spend a decent percentage more to only slightly improve on the quality and reality they give you. FYI for anyone who actually cares, there are only a handful people who make these panels and technology on a large scale. Most of them were just fined for price fixing. There is a large amount of sharing within this technology. Sony and Philips are good but not worth the mark up.

FWIW. All these TV's are a waste of money. For what you pay, you could have a projector that is bright, high quality and with an image that is much larger than a TV.

In my living room I have what would be 73" TV. The image is perfectly clear in full light as well.

I have seen a lot of samsung and does not touch the quality of a Sony

For the longest time Sony LCDs had Samsung panels inside, by the way. Only the Bravia LCDs are Sony made. Everything before then is 100% Samsung inside.

Sony LCDs do a lot of color saturation (think: point and shoot camera that over saturates colors).

I have Sharp and Philips LCD,s sadly they are not 1080p but 1080i, but are still nice.

I say go look at a bunch of TVs and find one that you like. And don't bother with anything less than 1080p. Also look for one with more HDMI inputs because virtually everything will be HDMI. Your DVD players, DVRs, cable/sat receivers, etc...

What everyone has to also realize is that there are only a hand full of panel manufacturers. LG, Samsung, Sony and some others. So although we have so many brands of TVs, inside they may be the same. Hell, for the longest time most Plasmas had nothing but LG parts inside.. regardless of the brand.
