Car Runs Unevenly In The Cold

My car is a 1998 S70 T5 (130k), for the last month or so I have noticed that the car idles and runs unevenly in cold temps for the first 10 or 15 min (depending on how cold it is outside). Last year I change the ECT sensor and before christmas I cleaned the Idle Air valve, the PCV pin hole on the air intake and very carefully sprayed the MAF using a MAF cleaner, leaving it in its housing. Also if i stop and restart the car when its warm it runs smoothly.

Interestingly when I went to clean the Idle air valve it didn't appear to be fully working, but the car was running very well with a smooth idle and I didn't have any issues last winter.

My dad has a 96 850 Turbo, so i can borrow parts of it to help diagnosis my problem, but i was wondering if anyone has experienced similar problems and what they're fixes were. Besides the ECT, MAF or Idle Air the only other thing i can think of is a vacuum leak, but since the issue goes away after the car warms up don't really think this is the issue; also im planning on replacing all the vacuum lines this spring.

thanks

Sounds like IAC. What did you mean when you said it didn't seem to be working right when u cleaned it?

When I went to clean it, it was very dirty and the vane didn't turn freely. I was told that when properly working the vane should rotate freely when you turn the whole unit in your hand. I cleaned the unit use Carb cleaner and q-tips.

is there a way to test the IAC?

Same issue, changed MAF and so so much. Problem went away when I was in the warmer temps of Southern Illinois but when I went back up to Minnesota for college it came back and with a vengeance. It actually about stalls out on mine. I'm going to have a shop in town try and check it out and I'll post an update so you wouldn't have to spend as much on parts if you would have to. Car is a 96 850 turbo.

thanks, Im planning on going home one of the next few weekends and swapping some parts around out of my dads 850 turbo and see i can either get my problem to go away and/or for it to show up in his car so I can figure out which parts to replace.

Keep cleaning it. I remember I had an issue with the IAC on my old 740, and it did the same thing, didn't turn freely, and was all dirty. Sprayed it down with some carb cleaner several times, actually let it soak for a while once, and worked well after that. Just get all the crap out, it should work better :P
