crazykn
The dealer out here in San Francisco wants almost double that amount. They want $420ish for the OEM radiator. I ordered online from park place Volvo of texas and i thought i got a good deal at $280 not shipped for the radiator, next time i will give Waltrip volvo a try. I will probably use them for my Timing belt parts. Valeo is STILL the OEM maker of the Volvo radiator, thats what I got a month ago when my radiator blew. I am wondering if the price dropped because OEM has gone to one of the cheaper makes like Nissens or Behr etc. Or maybe it is still Valeo (sounds like it). this is worth knowing.so when you get your new OEM radiator, post up what make it is. It is stamped into the aluminum.

dcovey
I had an Indy replace my radiator for a whopping 760 dollars. Afterwards, I had to replace the oil and atf return hose O-rings, which he did not replace and led to a small leak, so remember to replace those!!!Looking at the radiator from underneath the car, the replacement shouldn't be that difficult. Looks like you'd have to disconnect the hoses and a couple of bolts, then it drops out underneath along with the intercooler. i didn't have the time to tinker with it like I did when I replaced all thestruts and shocks, so had to pay the $$$ to STIMULATE THE ECONOMY in ways that The One can't do with a trillion$ of our tax dollars.Yup, 2 bolts on the bottom, 2 more holding it to the front support, plus the AC condensor bolts. Takes about 15 minutes to disconnect everything, drain the coolant and drop it out the bottom. Intercooler, AC condensor and radiator come out as a unit. But you'll have to pull a vaccum on the AC system and put the 8oz of oil and 24oz of R134 back in after a complete swap.

When I was shopping out new radiators a 1 1/2 years ago, every dealer I called said that Valeo wasn't manufacturing the radiators anymore (or maybe it was at that time) and they were using Behr as OEM replacements. I wasn't going to pay the $400+ they wanted for Behr, when I was able to get it for $200.

However, I did have a concern that seems to have amounted to nothing. Seems that the rad I got had a rainbow like curvature in the center section of it. Meaning that thecooling section was higher in the middle than on the ends where they attach to the tanks. I posted on this but no one had a difinative explanition about it. I called jamie about it and he said he was not aware of any issue. He pulled one out of a new box and discovered that it also had a shape similar to mine, but maybe not as much of a rainbow in the center. Anyway,It installed with no issues. Bolt holes lined up fine. Post back if you see the same thing with yours. Good luck.

I replaced it for my 97 850 GLT using Bay13 guide.I wish I hear about this OEM radiator source. I git it from local radiator shop for $170 made in Thailand. It was OK.See the link:http://volvospeed.com/Repair/Radiator850turbo.php
