elfnmagik
I've got 175k on the clock and have had most all the major surgeries (rear main, suspension, PVC, timing/pump, axles, etc.). The motor's never had open heart though and blood pressure has always been 10 or 5w-40 Pen-dino. I did a tran flush at 90k, the water torture/Seafoam plus added to the tank at 132K, and fuel filter (2nd) just the other day. I'm prolly gonna do both the flush and torture/seafoam again along with plugs/wires/dist/rotor and I've got an old bottle of Amsoil Engine Flush I've never used and was considering that too. What other additives/cleaners and/or maintenance would you folks recommend to keep the ticker in tip-top?

Keaton85
It's an N/A so no real need to bother messing with anything. If the oil changes have been done correctly at an interval you feel comfortable with then you are probably all set.

elfnmagik
I know it's running rich, burns about a quart every 4K, and noticed a good bit of carbon around the inlets on the manifold/head, but other than that, runs pretty good. elfnmagik
So what are the thoughts on switching to synthetic at this age? Would it clean things up a bit?
johnloves850's
with dino oil you shouldn't let it go past 2500-3k milesso you've been setting yourself up for some nice sludge action lolyes yes yes, switch to synthetic as soon as you possibly cani use a k&n oil filter, but everyone here likes mann or OEM filtersthey all do the same thing, although i have a little more piece of mind using a k&n because of their filter element researchit's your call though on the filter, as far as switching to synthetic...this is not your call haha, switch to synthetic, there is no option lolgood luck
Keaton85
Where do you come up with this information? It's not even correct..More to the point do YOU know what the difference between synthetic and non-synthetic is and why use one vs. the other in a given situation?
